Sassy Studio Designs New Release and Blog Hop!

HI!
Hope you all are having a fantabulously sassy weekend!
If you are looking for the Sassy Studio Designs New Release Hop
and came from the wonderfully talented Jackie's blog
you are in the right place...if you missed anything along the way you
can start go back to the SSD blog and start at the beginning!

So Lindsay has made a few new holiday images, as well as revamped
a few older ones...you are going to love them all! I do!

I got to create with Hanging The Wreath

I made a 3D project...

I created the frame using cardstock and lots of glue...
added silver and gold heat embossing for color.
The background is cardboard that I added some texture to and
then some Tim Holtz stains (about 5 colors) and distress ink.
I colored the image with Copics and lots of stickles.
The door and window are cut out with my silhouette, with
acetate and tracing paper...I also inked them to give
the light in the background look. Oh and the
trees are also a diecut from silhouette.
OK now on your way to the absolutely fabulous

Enjoy the hop!

DTBST #205 R U Green?

 Happy Thanksgiving!
WOW can you believe it is already turkey time
and Christmas is just around the corner.
OMG I have no idea where the time has gone!
Anyway it's
http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com/

And this weeks theme is
R U Green?
We want you to make projects that use
recycled, reused or re-proposed things!
I used a box that I got with samples of Golden Products...
I took a picture of the box before I started and then a few of the process but for the life
of me I cannot find them! LOL
I used Katniss Girl on Fire for my image....
coloring her with Copics.
So I painted over the box with white gesso, then used a mix of an
iridescent acrylic paint and a light molding paste.
I used very little..just wanting a touch of texture.
Then added some cheesecloth using a bit of the mixture I madefor the glue.
Used a diecut from Silhouette...sponging ink and using heat embossing to
give it strength and stiffness.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid and I
used some diamond smooch spritz to give them shine!
I love to make stuff like this...now what
to do with it! LOL
You can check out the other DT's projects here.

DTBST #204 Count Your Blessings!

http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com/

Today's DTBST theme is
COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!
You need to have your projects with Thanks in mind.
Either with thank you sentiments, blessings or Thanksgiving theme.

Here is what I created using an image from the Round The World Honeys..

I used copics to color her...adding stickles to her barrette and fan.
Added the mesh after using heat embossing to change the color!
Here is the inside...

Check out the other projects here.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Yesterday was my mom's 73rd birthday!

Here is the card that I made for her..

I used the Sagittarius image from Simply Betty Stamps.
Colored her with Copics, used papers from a Taylored Expressions kit,
and flowers from recollections.
The ribbon is Snug Hug seam binding that I colored
with inks after spraying other things with different sprays!
OK what that really means is whenever I use any of my sprays
on stuff I will keep seam binding, cheesecloth or other materials and
use them to soak up the extra spray. Viola I get all kinds of
crazy colors when I decide it's done!
ANYWAY
My mom said she liked it, so made me happy!
Happy Creating!

DTBST #201 Happy Veteran's Day!

Don't you just love Thursday!
One day closer to Friday and
Sassy Studio Design's next challenge!

This week we are preparing for
Veteran's Day
which is next Monday!
The challenge is to create a project using either colors of your country,
a project for a military person or a project using a SSD military image.

Here is what I made using Navy Sailor Honey

I have great respect for our military;
both retired and enlisted.
I think it takes alot to go through what they have.
My great uncle was in the military...
fought in World War II
oh so many years ago...
My mom actually has the telegram of when he went MIA.
It was crazy to see it and know that he was fighting for us as a country
and died fighting...never to be brought home.
And there have been way too many that did not come home.

I hope you enjoy all the projects that the DT came up with...
you can check them out here.

Happy Veteran's Day

DTBST #201 Happy Halloween!

http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com/

This weeks DTBST is
Happy Halloween!
We need to make Halloween Projects!

Being today is Halloween,
that is just about perfect!

Here is what I made using the latest
Winifred
From Hocus Pocus!

My papers are from a Martha Stewart pack (I think) LOL
I added some distress paint in a splatter
and added the RIP tombstone.
The thread looking piece is actually a runner I found in the Halloween
section at Target. I figured it would work in place of cheesecloth
or gauze...and it did. I got it for $2.00 and it is huge!
I colored Miss Sanderson with Copics,Prisma markers and stickles.

Make sure you check out the other DT's projects
as well as enter the challenge on the blog!

Depending on when you read this..
I may just be on a plane heading to Knoxville Tennessee!
I am meeting my sister to have a few days of fun!

But first my DTBST project!
This week the theme is Support Your Team!
WIth football happening, the World Series just around the corner
what better way than to make a project using your teams colors!
You can even use your high school colors.

In my household we are The Patriots and the 49ers for football
and the Red Sox for baseball...
I went red, white and blue for my card.

I used Birthdaycake Sassy.
Colored her with copics and spica pens.
I kept it simple but like how it turned out!

Last one I swear!
OK of these any way!
LOL

The sentiment says...
I am perfect just the way I am

Here is a close up of the charms...

I liked the sayings on these little charms...

"Do I look good in this or what?"
and
"Be careful not to knock my tiara off"

As always Happy Creating!

More Mixed Media

A few more projects that I have been working on...

Here are two vases that I painted.
The first is colored like a sunflower that I will add sunflowers to and give
to my daughter for her room...

I used metallic paints..I wish the bottom could have
been photographed better but it just would not show up how it really looks.

Here is one that is supposed to be like a burning flame...

There is actually a lot more difference in looks in person!

Happy Creating!

Keeping Me Busy

Hi!
I have been pretty quiet this year!
I know I set out to be more blog friendly but never ended up doing what
I said I would! LOL
I am trying to make up for it now.

I have been creating a few mixed media projects...
these two are for a friend of mine daughters.

Using

I made an 8 x 10 frame...
the image is printed on canvas and watercolored using inktense pencils.
I added rhinestones, stickles and metallic paint.
Then I used a sponge and added paint to the frame.
The inside mat is made with DCWV glitter paper.

and
using

Again I water colored the image after printing on canvas paper,
added stickles, rhinestones, smooch ink, and tinsel glitter (wings).
the frame has been not only painted but then spritz with tinsel colored spray.

Both of the images I bought from

This weeks theme is
Think Outside The Box!
Anything but a square!

Here is what I made...

I decorated a candy bucket using the latest
Captain America!

I added a few little Halloween embellishments.
I am having a BUNCO party next Friday and we add candy dishes to

DTBST #196 Fall Colors!

It's Thursday!

So that means it's...

This weeks theme is fall colors!
I love fall...the cool crisp air...oh wait I live in AZ so that's my AC!

Sorry...feeling a bit punchy...it has been finally below 100 degrees,
first time in months!
ANYWAY
Let me get to what I am supposed to be doing!

I made a tag using the newest Sassy Mummy....

I used some canvas like material....some faber castell gelatos,
smooch spritz, distress inks and finally a stencil with
copper paint mixed with soft gel medium. The stencil is maple leaves...
but the way I did it you have to look closely to see the outline! :(
OH and the material is stuck to the stiff ploomph (sp)..it's not that stiff though.

Hope you have a great week!

Happy Creating!

DTBST #194 Shabby Chic

WOW 2 weeks in a row!
LOL

Today starts the next DTBST

This weeks theme is Shabby Chic.
I know this theme is one that you either love or hate...
I love it.
The card I made is not what I would consider typical
of shabby chic...there should be more foof, but since
I still cannot find everything in my craft room...except for my
copics and craft table...this is what I made!

I actually had this card done a while ago..just had not found the
right image..I think Miss My Fair Lady works!

Thank you for visiting!
