Two New Projects

OMG I feel like I haven't finished anything in forever.
I try to keep ahaead of my DT work but the way I have felt lately
I am lucky to keep ahead of anything!

Anyhooooo!
I have finally gotten pictures of the last
two projects I did using new images from Scrapper's Delights.
The first one is Cupid 4!
She is a sexy little cupid that I used to make a Valentine's gift.

I made a pot with paper from the new DCWV Coral Corture.
Added a ribbon from my stash and then put
a styrofoam piece in the bottom to stick the blo-pops
which are also from my stash!
Cupid is stuck in with a piece of wire!

The next is the new Pyramage sheets...
you can get 6 sheets for 2 bucks right now in the store...
These are really cool. You get several images that enable you
to stack them upok I am not describing them right! LOL
Here is mine:

I made mine into a magnet for my MIL.
The next time I will probabl skip every other layer...
these seemed to get a little too big for a regular card.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my latest projects!

WE'RE BAAACK!!!

Happy New Year!
and welcome to the first Guylou's Inimitability Challenge of 2012!

Guylou, our wonderfully talented owner and artist,
and our first host of the year, has chosen
a fun and frosty Winter Wonderland using these colors

as our theme this time!

This was a bit hard for me because here in AZ we do not get many
winter wonderland days! I mean it is January and we have had temps as high as 79!

My mojo has been seriously missing lately but I finally
came up with the idea to make a shadow box/tray using one of
my $1 trays from the dollar store!
I picked out a snow poem, my image and the paint for the tray.
Seeing that this is a $1 tray I added hot glue to the
seams on the back and some sealer all over. Thinking ahead right???
Then I printed my image (I used Dorothy make a snow angel), colored it...and I have to say I
was really happy with the way the shadowing, shading and all over colors worked!
I punched out a snowflake border...gluing the little snowflakes to the
edges of the tray and got my resin ready!
And looked what happened:

Completely smeared the colors. I had put modge podge,
for paper, as the glue and as the sealer over the top and it still smeared. This is a different resin than I had used before
and I am thinking that's what caused it.
I was going to let it finish setting up and
figured I would see what would happen!
Well, dang if my luck continued....
the resin leaked out the GLUED bottom!
It ended up with the resin drying at an angle and still looked horrid!
So I reprinted the image recolored and
glued it to the top of the resin!
I added the modge podge to the top with a sponge brush to give it some texture...
Here is the final project:

Tried to get an upclose to show the texture finish.

And here is the poem I chose!

Check out all of the DT members blogs to the left..

We're Having A Frosty Winter Thursday

Hey Hey Hey
This week we are having a color challenge!
You must use PURPLE, BLUE,WHITE and SILVER

I decided to use Cocoa Carol for my project.

And decided to do something that I have never tried before....
I made a lamp shade for a wine glass and a tag to go along with it.

I diecut the snowflakes out using an old sizzix diewith purple and blue
vellum behind it. The actual shade is a white shimmer paper.
The tag is white with a silver edge and lilac, purple and dragonfly mist.
The mug Carol is holding is silver paint and there is silver on the ribbon...
can't see it very well! And of course added some rhinestones!

Sassy Studio's Fabulous Freebie Friday!

Time for the next FREEEEEEEBIEEEEEEEEEEEE...
Make sure you get over to PCP and pick her up NOW!
Don't wait...she will only be available for 24hrs!

The image this week is named Winter Wendy and the theme is....
Bottle It Up!!!
You must use something from a bottle...stickles, gloss, liquid pearls etc...

I had a lack of mojo the last week or so and it was a bit
taxing trying to come up with something...then I remembered...
I hadn't used anything from my Taylored Expressions kit from December...
so I pulled it out and there were these adorable penguins!
I figured it was perfect for Winter Wendy!

You cannot tell by the photo but when the stickles dried the hat and her hand
pop out a bit...given Wendy a bit more dimension.

Since I have no clue as to the type of card this will turn out being I left the sentiment off and the inside blank!

I used distressed pink stickles for the sweater and silver stickles for the scarf and hat.
I also used a Viva Decor pen on my flower and leaves. I was worried how it would
dry on the ribbon...it is a glubber circle that the ribbon is wrapped and twisted to.

We are having a blog hop tomorrow so come back around for that!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!
HUGS!!!

It's An Anything Goes Challenge!

This month at Scrapper's Delights we are having not only
a huge sale but a fantastic challenge!
It is an anything goes challenge for the month of January!

You can get all the deets on the website.

I made a keepsake box for my daughter for Valentine's day.
I was worried never having tried this before.

I found a few tutorials but this one seems to be the best. They call it a "drop spine box".
I wanted to make it a different size so I came up with my own size.
I made it to hold 5 1/2 square cards but decided to use it
as an actual box for Jenna!
I used the new "Love Fairy" that will be released on the 16th!
Get ready there will be several new items released this month!

I messed up on the larger fairy...when I went to put versa mark on it for the
embossing powder I grabbed the frost one rather than the clear!
But it still turned out pretty good!
For my first try! LOL

I colored the images with copics and prisma markers, added chrome
letters from my stash, beads from Micheals, flower from prisma and rhinestones from Recollections!

Can't wait to see what you create for this months challenge!

HUGS!!!!

My TIP:
Measure twice and then cut...especially if you only have two
pieces of the paper and it is a huge project!
AND don't forget the ribbon tie...like I did!

I would like to enter this project in the following challenges:

Let's Get Sketchy

Today at Guylou's Inimitability we are starting our next challenge
and this week our fearless and most talented leader has chosen a sketch...

Pretty cool huh?

Here is my take:

I tried to make it more 3-d but the picture doesn't allow that to really come across!
I used one of Guylou's latest images called cat in the window.
I used the sentiment Missing You because he looks like he is waiting for someone to come home!
I hope you like it!
Make sure you link up your projects on the challenge blog
and follow all the rules!
It's today through the 19th!
