Two Sponsorships at Sassy!

Today we have 2 sponsorships!
AUD Sentiments
with a theme of Adult Valentine with Sentiment
and
Charizma Cardz
with a Pink and Brown color challenge.
Here is what I created combining the two!

I thought that "All Wrapped Up" was perfect
with this sentiment!
I colored my image with Copics and then added some clear star gel,
spica clear pen and fairy dust paint.
Gotta love sparkle and shine!

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

I See Spots! GI Challenge

Good Morning!
Today starts a new challenge over at Guylou's Inimitability!

and the theme is
SPOTS!

I decided to do a layout...
I know, I know I don't usually do a LO but I have
so many pictures and so many albums

Anyway this is a picture of Dave and I at the San Diego Zoo
back in 2006...see it has been awhile! LOL

I figured I would get credit for the papers as well as for my
giraffe and leopard!
I love going to the zoo...doesn't matter if it's our
little zoo here in Tucson or the huge San Diego Zoo
I am and will always be a zoo goer! LOL
So let's see what you see spots on!

Our guest designer this time around is
Make sure you check out what she has created
as well as all the other of my talented DT members!

Paint Box Project 1 Jan 8th

Painting On Silk!

Material list:

Silk fabric
Fabric support (emb hoop etc..)
Fluid acrylic paint
Golden's Specialty Acrylic Polymer GAC 900
Brush
Palette Knife
Golden's Acrylic Flow Release (optional)

Directions:
Secure the silk (makes it easier to paint), dilute the paint with 1:1 with the GAC.
After reading a bit about painting on silk I went 1:2 with the GAC.
The GAC is supposed to allow the material to be softer.
Once you paint on the silk you need to heat set it.

If you want to control the bleeding more you can use the
acrylic flow release...I looked into this but
here was more chance of things to go wrong.

OK so I decided that I need to do things my way...
so I sparyed and spritz rather than actually painting.
I made 2 shawls or scarfs using 2 different
types of silk and 2 different colors of paint.
I used black and silver for my colors....

There really isn't brown on it...not sure why the camera did that!

I have one more thing I am going to do...
I am going to seal rather than sew the edges, with a glue
made for fabrics. We'll see how that does!
I could have used a bit more GAC I think...
cause it is a bit stiff here and there.
But overall I am happy!

Mixed Media Gift For Jenna

Fianlly got the pictures uploaded!
YEA!
This year for Christmas we decided to change my daughters room.
Now that she is sixteen she's ready for
a more grown up room...so...

This is what she picked out.
The duvet cover is reversible so she can change that up.
We got her the New York and the Paris pillows,
black sheets (getting white next) and a black pillow.

Here is what I made to go with it...

There are ribbons holding it all together...
I added hot glue on the back to keep the knots solid.
The pieces are 8 x 8 mirrors that I sanded, added gesso, drilled
the holes in and then added the different mediums.
I used: blended fibers, beads, coarse pumice, light pumice, flakes,
heavy molding paste, and heavy gel.
And as you can see black paint! LOL
I used the Golden silverpoint/drawing ground for the words.
I "drew" the names on with a dropper.

This is a close up of the top mirror....

The oval charms say faith and love and are hung with a clothes pin.
This is the middle..I left the middle 6 x 6 open.

And the bottom.
The red is a little purse charm and the little jar has baby feet, luggage,
a heart and lots of glass glitter.
Also added some little charms and doo dads through out, as
well as some chipboard with glitter!

I had a lot of fun making this and if my daughter is to be believed, she loves it!
