Some Exciting News WAY LATE!!!

Hey All! This post should have gone up on Wednesday but lucky for me I got hit with a wonderful headache! Hit me hard on Tuesday and ended up at urgent care on Wednesday and still down yesterday. I did not want to move let alone look at my computer! But I am back and whew it's Friday!

ANYHOOOOO I have some great news! I was accepted as a team member at Scrapper's Delight! I know can you believe it! I am so stoked! Of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't completely mess up my first challenge! LOL Yes it started Wednesday! We will just pretend that I am on time OK...our little secret!

You can see the challenge is back to school! And there are some great prizes you can win. And heck there are some great sales going on at Scrapper's Delight that you can get soooo much for so very little!

For my Back to School theme I decided to create a scene and then attach said scene to a lunch box. I made this for my daughter...I know she is in high school but she wanted something one of a kind and she got it!!!!

Here is my creation!
This of course is the front! I used 3 characters from Scrapper's Delight kits: Bridget (check the store for a freebie) and Chin and Cho. I colored my back ground with copics and then used a varnish over the top to try and keep it protected. Here are some other views....

This is the back and I added a few images from Kenny K...the back ground are images from Make It Crafty! I printed on two different 8.5 x 11 papers and then affixed them with spray adhesive. It was still a little short so I added a tag with my info.

I think it turned out pretty good! BUT mam oh man that was a lot of coloring! Next time I think I would do some of it in Paint Shop Pro. LOL

Hope you like it!

Don't forget to check out the other Team Members and all the info here.

Just A Sketch!

This week at Guylous Inimitability our challenge is coming to us from Carmen at Piece of Paper. She always comes up with an interesting sketch for us to work with, as you can see:

It is never just one or two layers from the wonderfully, creative Carmen, it is multiple that make us think about how everything will work and flow with each other. Thank you Carmen for getting our creative juices going! It is a fantastic sketch!

Here is the card I made:

I used the image "Farha". When I saw Carmen's sketch I new I wanted to go with a monochromatic look. Just figured with all of the different layers it would look cool. Now this is hard for me...I have seen so many cards out there that look wonderful with all the different papers but as soon as I start laying them out I don't like how it looks....BUT this one I think turned out pretty good! To be perfectly honest though it took me almost an hour just to decide on the papers! Didn't take me that long to decide on the image! That was the easy part! LOL

I used Copics but added the clear Spica pen to her dress edges, dots, and jewels. I wanted to have that little bit of sparkle! Then added some bling. The picture does not do it justice.

Check out the DT projects you know they will all kick butt! And don't forget to check out our guest designer, Aunty Sue's (http://auntysuescraftcavern.blogspot.com)blog as well! Starts today and ends at 10PM (est) on September 1st...so what are you waiting for? HUGS

I'm Just tickled!

Pink that is! I was so happy to get a gift certificate to Tickled Pink Stamps from Regan at Charmed Stamping a few months back because I found a wonderful collection of not only digital stamps but rubber as well. Some of the images are whimsical, some are adorable and some are just a bit goth! Needless to say...you can get it all!

Here is one of the cards that I made using Lil Lolita Willow:

I always try to decorate the inside but leave a spot for a sentiment or a blank spot for someone to write what they want to.

I used prisma markers for my coloring and paper from my mind's eye (I think it is the hattie style) I am doing this post from work and let my notes at home! LOL

I want to enter this card in the following challenge:

Inspire Me Fridays   Anything Goes
The Corrosive Challenge   Earth Tones

I Stink At Naming Blog Posts!

Here is a card that I made using some new paper from DCWV that is called Tattered Time. Now I am one of those impulse shoppers when it comes to my craft supplies....I mean how can you go wrong??? You see something and you buy it....you don't second guess your self. Right? You gals all do the same thing RIGHT? Please agree or my husband will think I have the problem! LOL Now seriously I really do shop that way...I will walk into Joann's or Micheal's and just buy what I want....there are a few times that I will walk in with a purpose but usually it is just let's see what's new.

So I walked into Joann's and saw Tattered Time and thought that this will work perfect with all of the "Steampunk" images that are fast becoming popular. I had all of these visions in my head of all the digis I had that will work. THEN I got home. Don't get me wrong I still love the papers but it seemed like I couldn't get anything to work together! So this is my first try using this paper:

I kept it pretty simple...wanting the papers to pop a bit without a lot on it. I added some buttons from my stash, colored "Ariana" from Anita Be Stamping with copics, and used star gel pen for her wings. Still not sure if I like it. Hope you do!!! HUGS!

These are the challenges I am hoping to enter:

Cute Card Thursday   Clean and simple
Delightful Challenges   Things with wings
Flutterby Wednesdays  Must include butterfly, fairy or angel
Moving Along With The Times   Fantasy

Good Luck Jenna!

Today is the first day of school for my wonderful darling daughter Jenna! Better known as my brattttttt! LOL She was a bit nervous when she left this morning, with Dave, to head off to Tanque Verde High School. Yup she is a freshman! Jenna, as far as she knows, only knows her step brother Tyler. I am not sure how to explain about TVHS, it is not a charter school but it is in it's own district. And we are technically not in that district but you can drive your kid there if you are accepted. Because of Tyler we were able to get her in even though open enrollment closed in April!

Any way here is my daughter getting ready for the first day of school!

I added highlights to her hair on Sunday...ended up more like I colored it! I think it turned out pretty good though. One of her friends had colored it real dark before so this evened it out!

I really love her shoes...they are Converse that have torn newspaper strips. Looks a little like zebra stripes to me! LOL And of course the holey jeans...hopefully they are ok to wear to school.

Another Day, Another Dollar...Opps I mean Card!

Hiya all you wonderful bloggers! Having a great Thursday I hope! As you can tell by my title I have another card I am using Mojo Monday Sketch #203.

Now I have to admit I was a bit stumped by this sketch...I mean most of my images are good size...I know with digital you can change it but sometimes going toooo small can alter the whole look of an image. Make sense? Then I remembered I had a few images that came from CDAC and needed to do a card with one of them!

Here is what I came up with!

I really have never used a sentiment as the
main focal point on a card but I like
how this turned out so I may try it again.
I used paper from DCWV
Hippie Chic, ribbon and rhinestones
are from my stash and the sentiment
is from TLC. (one of her freebies)
The image is was free from the
new progressive challenge going on
at CDAC by Sandi's Samples. I
colored the image with
Copics and Spica pens and used
chalk around it. Then sprayed that with
sparkle...hard to see in the picture.

I am going to enter this card in these challenges:

Little Monster's Birthday!

I made this card for my nephew Jeremy...he is my nephew; Brandon's boy. He is a little monster but absolutely adorable!

He will be 5 this year...he was only 3 in this picture! I couldn't find any of the latest pictures.

And here is the card. I used an image from Dustin Pike that I received in one of the bulk packs that ordered form him...I think it fit Jeremy perfectly!

I used Prisma Markers to color my little monster and added some white gel pen for accents.
The paper is Confetti from K & Co and the extras are from my stash!
I used the sketch from Sunday Sketch Stamp.

I am going to enter this card here:

Happy Birthday Honey!

OK today is my wonderful husband's birthday! I have to say that I am extremely lucky to have Dave in my life. This is my second marriage and in my case 2nd time was the charm! We met through work...back in 1999 and fell in love...married in 2004 and still going strong! So I made him a card...tried to keep it simple...I have such a hard time with manly cards...do yo add ribbon, bows, flowers...what do you do with a manly card! Well here's what I did:

I chose this image "Kisses" is from The Paper Shelter. I just think it is so sweet and just love it. On the inside cover I added a few sayings and then a poem on the other side. I even decorated the envelope...just didn't take a photo of it, but here is the one of the inside:

I am going to enter this card in these challenges:

KB Cute Monday   Anything Goes, using a digi

AI Factory  Anything Goes
Stamp Something Use a Digi
Make It Monday   Anything Goes

used copics, TLC, and several other sentiments, wood paper from McMahon5 and paper from K & Co, Confetti

Anything But A Card! with a color twist

Hello, Hello all you beautiful people in blog-land! Today starts another fun filled challenge at Guylou's Inimitability! This week our host is none other than our beautiful and talents artist/owner Guylou herself. As you can see by the title you can submit anything and I do mean anything that you have created as long as it is not a card! Now at first I thought this would be an easy challenge....I mean hello I make projects all the time that are not cards....and then "light bulb" I can make one of the canvas projects that I have been wanting to do.

So picture this: I am sitting at my computer and I print the picture I kinda like, find the GI image I want, and start to work on the canvas. I bought some kits from a company called "Tilano" and have been saying I was going to do a canvas for the last year! I used the "Forever" heart image and viola! My canvas was finished. I was so excited! Here is what it turned out like:

Looks pretty cool huh? Well I forgot the twist! Hand to forehead! I did not add/use the colors that I was supposed to! I can not believe that I forgot! LOL Leave it to me.

So I made another project using the correct colors:

and here is my clothes pin project:

I used a giant clothes pin that I painted pink, added flowers, and used the image "Playing Dress-up" with a poem that I had in an old book that my mom gave me...I think I got back in 1985. Here are some close ups:

You should check out the other DT blogs listed on the left of my blog and check out Heather, out Guest Designer here.

You have from today through the 18th to get your project done. Don't forget to follow the challenge rules listed on GI and use your color scheme! Don't goof like I did! At least I got one of the canvas' done!
