Anything Goes Challenge

GI has an easy peasy challenge that starts today…anything goes…you know what that means…you have no excuses.  Just make a new card or project and enter it at GI.  Remember you can always buy a digistamp from GI or check her out at.. Guylou's Inimitability at CDAC and join the group to get a freebie and use it here and now.

Now I want to send out an extra bit to this challenge…do something you have never done before! Weather it is color is with a medium you have never used before, use a technique you have never done but always wanted to, or make a project that you never have done. Take a step out of your box and do something different.
Now because I am a member of the design team I got an image to play with…well we got two to play with. G made two great images for b-day, anniversary, or even wedding…Paul & Molly. I couldn’t choose which one I wanted to use, so I did a card for each image. Paul I kept simple. (I actually started this card with another image in mind and changed it halfway through to Paul)

I added small rhinestones to
the cake and used frosted
lace stickles for the icing.

Now for this next card I wanted to accept the same challenge that I gave to you and do something different…so with Molly I used my new liquid pearl, painted wire mesh, cut it into a flower and added that to my card. I wanted to step a little further outta my box but that is what turned out! Hope you like it!

Our guest designer for this challenge is Theresa…check out her submission here: http://craftsfriendsangels.blogspot.com/  You know she will come up with something fantastic! Don’t forget to check out the rest of the design team.

Have fun!

NEW Old Card!

I thought I had already posted this card but looking back NOPE I DIDN’T.  For those of you who know me know that I love my dogs. They are my babies. And a few months ago my female, Zilla, ended up with a hematoma in both of her ears. I won’t go into all the gory details but the “3 week” time frame turned into almost 11 weeks. She had surgery on her right ear once and left ear twice. To get to why I am posting this…I made a card for my vet. Here it is….
The digi is one from Bugaboo. Such a cute little rottie. Hope you like it!

New Card

Here is a card that I finally finished! I made the actual card and did the sentiment but couldn't decide what image to use. So the other day I was going through my sheets of printed, but not colored digi images and saw this little girl! I absolutely love the image. It is "Little Rapunzel" by Elisabeth Bell. I did a bit of changing...I didn't want the flowers on her shirt so I did remove them when I printed it. She reminds me of my Jenna when she was about 4. Still sweet and innocent. It makes me think of a story...we went to a resturant for Mother's Day. It was myself, my husband; Dave, Jenna, my mom and Dave's parents. Anyway the waitress comes up and takes our drink order and Jenna just orders water. After a while she comes back and takes our food order and Jenna tells her she doesn't want anything. Well the waitress asks her why not? and Jenna replies I don't have any money. It was just so matter of fact and so cute. Oh to have those days back. Anyone with teenagers wishes the same thing! Here is my card! Hope you like it!

New Challenge At Guylou's Inimitability

Can you believe we are already into February?  Time always flies so fast which brings me to GI new challenge.  To go along with February being “Heart Month” , the  challenge is you have to use a heart on your project.  Now this hits home a bit for me, because we recently lost Lou, who was a sales person, that worked for us.  He was only 43 and had a heart attack back on the 6th of January. He had no known issues and was in good health.  My husband and I continually ask ourselves if he had gone to the doctor, had some test done would that have saved him? It’s one question we will never get an answer to. So not only am I posting about a challenge for GI but I challenge you to not let this happen to you…go to your doctor, have a test done, take those steps needed to prevent a heart attack. Remember you are too important of a person to let this happen.
OK off my soap box now. Back to the challenge…make a project and make sure you have a heart somewhere on it and upload it to your blog or gallery. (link it up on  Guylou’s Inimitability Blog ) I got to use the new “love seat” image and decided to add Sophie to it. She just has that look that say “Take care of yourself…I need you” so I thought she was perfect for this card.

I ended up printing her right on the seat but made a second image of just her so I could “pop” her dress up for some added dimension. I colored the image with copics and added chalk to the background rather than leave her hanging on the white. The paper is actually a giant tag the I cut to fit. I really liked the softness of the tag. I found this beautiful sheer ribbon, that is a gorgeous shade of brown. The hearts are charms that I cut off the ring. I think it came together pretty good.
The challenge starts today and will end on the 17th at 10pm EST. Don’t forget to check out the other DT member blogs and you can’t forget  Starla’s. She was the winner of a previous challenge and not only got a free image but is our GDT this time around. Here is her blog…http://youcouldbewishingonastar.blogspot.com Don't forget to leave her some love!
Now get outta here and get your heart pumping, your creative juices flowing, and get a project entered! Remember creativity is good for your heart as well as for the person you give it to!

more organizing

Now I have posted about designing a craft room or area and I have posted about some of the organizing items that are out there and now I am going to expand a little bit…
I showed how I store my ribbons in glass jars; some still on the original spool (ones I haven’t opened yet) and some on round headed clothes pins. (see picture below) I will wrap the ribbon and pin the end. I don’t like pinning them but it is the easiest I have found so far…any other ideas feel free to let me know. I also put all of my buttons in a jar..now I say jar but most of them are more like vases. Anyway my buttons go in there unless I got them for something specific, then I put them somewhere safe so I don’t use them and then forget where I put them. Gotta love it!

I can't stand that I can't put these pics where I want them! LOL

I bought; for 75% off, this little hanging thing…I think I paid 3.00 and then bought the little jars for like 4. I found it on one of the back isles of Michael's. I have some of my larger brads in the jars.

I have a place where I put all of my scrap paper. I do it by color in hanging folders. I try to check there before I actually make a card or do a project to see if I can use that stuff up. I really recommend this because you either throw away good scraps or you pile it up and never use it. If it is organized (by color & theme) you know right where to go.
As I sit here so many thought s run through my head…did I forget something? (I am sure I did) Did I mention this, that and anything else? Well I can always do another post!
Hugs!
