There is a new challenge starting at Scrapper's Delights this week!
There are several new images out as well!
Ones I am sure anyone would love to get! A few freebies too!
Make sure you check out the store as well as the challenge site!
The theme this week is:
BLING IT UP
So with that in mind
I used one of the new princesses(1)...

I used clear star over the colored image to try to get some sparkle on her dress!
I added bling outside and in from Recollections

The embossed paper was something I have had for ages!!!
Hope you like it!
Don't forget to check out the challenge site and link up your projects!

OK I am such a horrible person...I actually have gotten this from two, count them two special people
and I am finally accepting and posting (sorry TEE)!
Theresa Gerber from http://craftsfriendsangels.blogspot.com/ gave me this last week!
Theresa is a super sweet person and a great friend!
And today I got this award from Robin at http://robins-reflections.blogspot.com/
Robin, I just met through Sassy Studio Designs...she has been our guest designer
and I am finding out that she is also a super sweet person...one I would like to call friend!
So thank you, to both of these wonderful women!

The LIEBSTER BLOG AWARD is used to show appreciation of smaller blogs (under 200 followers) and to help spread readership and joy.
As part of the tradition, the award is to be passed along to five other blogs that have motivated and inspired me.
It comes from the German meaning Dearest or Beloved, but can also mean Favorite.

To accept the Award you must:
1. Link back to the person's blog who gave it to you, and thank them.
2. Post on your blog.
3. Give to five other Bloggers who you appreciate and value.
4. Leave a comment on the five blogs you choose and let them know.

Now because I have received this twice I feel it is only fair to pick 10...
rather than the normal 5...so here it goes:

Guylou    http://guylous.blogspot.com/
Tracy    http://presentstorms.blogspot.com/
Regan    http://charmedstamping.blogspot.com/
Charlene     http://charlenescardcreations.blogspot.com/
Gina     http://ginasgorillaspeak.blogspot.com/
Brenda     http://brenscraps.blogspot.com/
Chana    http://redoralee.blogspot.com/
Ruza    http://ruzascraftcorner.blogspot.com/
Kathy    http://willstampforwine.blogspot.com/
Rachelle     http://imblackmartha.blogspot.com/

I chose these ladies because they are not only talented but special in their own right!

My Mother In Laws Book!

OK I finally finished the scripture book.
I am definitely happier with this one.
This is a long post...I have several pictures.
For the first book I used heavy duty chipboard, it was about 1/16th,
and was a little flimsy...it warped a bit.
So I searched and searched the web to find 1/8" thick board.
I finally found it at Hollander's.
Bought the glue there too.

I took a photo so you can see how I laid the board out with the paper..

I added a Tim Holtz key hole on the spine.
Most of the scriptures were printed on acetate...I liked the shadow effect.
This one I printed direct because I wanted white print and my laser wouldn't do it.

I printed pictures front and back then taped the acetate on both sides
with washi tape. I used 2 different colors to have some contrast.
The picture of the church is where my in laws got married...the sunsets
are either from my back yard or from Wells Beach, Maine.
The tree picture is from a cabin in Vermont.

I made the shadow boxes by cutting the 4 sides and scrunching them together then gluing...
Like my colorful clips?? :)
Then I glued the shadow box to the back cover...after placing the ribbon.

I used the mountain/valley folded paper to glue each page together
to be able to open like a regular book...then glued them onto the top of the shadow box.

I did the front shadow box the same way as the back..

Then I decorated the cover!

I used my die 7 from Spellbinders to make it like a book/bible on the front...
added ribbon, flowers, pearls and a key.
Viola.....
I got my ideas from several sources...
First there is a "company" that you can find their videos on youtube...
TVWEEKLY
I used the basics from this video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upUkXWRTssM
It is called a drop spine box.
Then just put it together the way it worked for me.
Sorry for such a long post! :)
hugs!!!

Dutch Dare Challenge!

Sassy Studio Designs is a sponsor for Dutch Dare today!
And today it is a sketch!

 Here is my take....
I used the newest Nurse Heather.
I had colored this image when I first got her but
wasn't sure what type of card I wanted to make.
Then I started messing around with my digital scrapbooking stuff
and decided to make a digital card!
So this is all digital elements and colored in PSP.
Hope you like it!

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

Scripture Book (first try)

I have been trying to make a book of inspirational scriptures for my
Mother In Law, Brenda.
She is such a special person...I truly don't know
the right words to describe her.
She has a heart of true gold!
She has been having a hard time of it lately...
she suffers, as so many do, of fibromyalgia and many other health issues.
Lately the pain has been so bad some days she could not move
without severe pain.
They live in New Mexico...only about 4 hours from us
but it may as well be 4 days away.
Because one of us always has to be at the store,
it is really hard for us to get away.
Anyway...I have been wabting to this for a long time and finally
decided to try it!

So here are a few pictures:
I didn't have any more paper so on the final one
it is a bit different. I went with purple since that is her fav color!

I decorated some of the pages with diecuts...
but some of the looks didn't come out the way I wanted.

I had to add some tape and paint in the centers because they
stuck together. I messed up when I glued them...
I forgot to add the ribbon, so I had to scrunch it in...
it was all kind of a mess!
When I get the pictures done of the second one, I will post them!

Hiya!
Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring
The Crazy Challenge this week...
and the theme we had was anything but a card...but
the site says use a die or a punch.
Well I have both!

I used the image
Wonder Regan
(named after my wonderful friend and  team member Regan of Charmed Stamping)
I used a sizzix die for the stars and I made the
image pop up on several layers...
I think it made her look more 3D.
I colored her with copics and prisma markers and made the frame.
I decided to give this to my daughter...
just to let her know how wonderful I think she is!

He can still rock with the best of them.

Any ideas?????

Fabulous Freebie Friday!

This week we have a devilish image
for the friday freebie on SSD PCP.
Her name is:
Little Honey Devil Debbie

The theme this week is
"Strange Love ~ Non Traditional Valentine"
You're project must express love in sonme way but you must strange it up!
Used different colors, papers, or sentiment.
I went with a different sentiment...
the inside says...
So why don't we raise a little hell together!
I had a hard time with this!
I colored the image 4 times and each time messed
something different up! So this one is all digital.
I used Paint Shop Pro and NO Mistakes!!!
That weren't erasable any way!
Now get over to PCP and check the other DT members projects and get your linked up!
Don't forget the blog hop tomorrow!!!!!

You're So Not My Sweetheart!

Whew...it is getting really close to Valentine's Day!
Have you made any cards yet?

I got to host this challenge and when asked what theme I wanted,
out popped "you're so not my sweatheart"
I was having one of those pisser days
where nothing and I mean nothing was good or right!

So for this challenge you must use black and the twist is
your project must be made for any one but your significant other!
I'm sending this one to mysister.

I used one of the new Serens images called
Serena Plays Her Guitar.

I made a "Tealight" card but instead of tealights I added chocolates!

It opens opposite because of the opening box for the chocolates.
I took some ideas from several tutorials and then made it my own.

I used papers from DCWV "Rock Star"
added Spellbinder's Sprokets die cuts and
heat embossed them with silver,
added a few metal gears on the sentiment tags.

Here is a close up on Miss Serena

I wanted to do flames on her guitar but nothing
came out the way I wanted
so I just did it in flaming colors and added clear
spica pen over it. You can't see it that well.

Hope you like it!

Make sure you leave some love on the other DT's blogs!
They each have come up with some spectacular projects!
Our guest DT this time around is Cammy..
she won the "Thankful with a Turkey Twist" challenge back in November.  Make sure you check her project out here.
And get your butts over to the challenge site and
upload your projects. There are some fab prizes to be won!
The challenge will start today and continue unti the 16th.
Have fun!
