It Freebie Time!

Thank God It's Freebie Friday!

It is time for another fabulous freebie from Sassy Studio Designs!

This time the challenge is to make anything but a card!

I have been on such an ornament kick I decided, why not?

May as well keep the theme going.

So here is my ornament using "Waiting For Santa" (the boy version)

I used invisible thread to hang the 2011...I may add a little charm to give some

weight to it...it seems to want to turn a bit...I have the date on both sides but the image only on one.

Don't forget to go get your image on the SSD forum on PCP!

Hurry it will only be there all day today!

SALE SALE SALE

Guylou's Inimitability is having a sale starting Dec 26th!
Yes that's right...A SALE!

I have seen "Boxing Day" on my calendar for years but
never knew what it meant. With having so many new friends
that are from Canada I figured I better learn!
Boxing Day was traditionally known as the day to open the Christmas Box
to share it's contents with the poor. The actual box was a wooden or clay
box where people would place gifts. Over the many years
these boxes were used in many different ways:
An Alms box that was placed in church on Christmas day

A box that was put on every ship...put there by a priest and
the crewmen would put money in it to ensure a safe voyage...it was sealed and
only if the ship came home safely, it was given to the priest for saying Mass over the voyage...
the box was saved for Christmas and opened for the poor

As a present to workers...many workers had to work on Christmas day and
took the 26th off for family time...upon leaving for the day
on the 25th owners would pass out boxes. Land owners
would even box up left overs and put them in the boxes for the laborers.

Today people still carry on this tradition..by passing out
tips or bonuses to people like the mailman, paperboy, gardeners etc..

You learn something new everyday!
Thank you for spending time reading my blog!
Enjoy the sale at GI!!!

Jenna's Winter Formal

Hiya everybody!
Hope you are having a great weekend.
My in-laws have been here since Tuesday and we have been having a wonderful time.

Last night was Jenna's first high school dance.
She was a bit ervous at first...had a few butterflies going on.
But after a few minutes and the first song started she was fine!
Here are a few pictures:

I think she looks beautiful!
Dave gave her a hard time about her "boyfriend", but what are dad's for!

Some Trays I Made

These are some other projects I have been working on....

The first one is for my mother in-law. I choose the
Lord's prayer (found the image from McMahon 5) and
did a little bit of changing to it...I wanted a different font and copied
the flowers to have them on both sides of the prayer.
I tore up some papers from Prima Romantique added the flowers that
are also from the same collection.
The other tray is for my mom...I colored a scene I created from digi's
from Make It Crafty...it was a lot of coloring! LOL
Added some sea shells and a cherish quote.
I used modge pode for paper to seal and glue it all in and the added
"Qucik Water" from Michael's over the top.
After I poured the "water" I check on them every hour...one of
the time I went out to check on them, the paper had landed on the top of my MIL
and stuck to it. I fixed it the best I could and hoped for the best.
After 12 hours it was still tacky on the top...after 29 hours it was
stil tacky on top..so I added some modge podge on the top
and Viola! It worked!
The tray for my mom I figured she could use in her bathroom to
hold some of her bottles and makeup stuff!
The one for my MIL I figured she could put it on her coffee table
for remotes or whatever.
Jenna has her dance tonight so I will post some pictures tomorrow!
hugs!

Happy Friday!

WHEW Finally have something to show for all the work
I have been doing! LOL
I got all 4 Angels from Scrapper's Delights...
check them out here.
When I saw them I fell in love and immediately thought
of my step mom. She has always loved angels!
So I decided to make her a swag for Christmas.
I have colored probably a dozen before I decided on colors and style.
Then it took me a few days and a lot of ribbon before I decided on the layout.
Here is what I came up with...there are 2 swags....

 I choose red:
Green:
and Gold:
I really hope she likes it! Now if I can only get it wrapped and to the Post Office! LOL

I used prismamarkers for coloring, the ribbon was from Target and the snowflakes from Michael's.

These are the challenges I would like to enter:

Just Dropping By With A Hi

Wow time has just gotten away from me.
I am trying to finish a few gifts and can't seem to find the extra hours in the day!
This weekend is not only my daughters and step sons winter formal...
bought the dress yesterday!
But it is also our family Christmas. Dave's parents come out a few weeks
before Christmas to have a dinner with the whole family! They stay with us.
So Saturday after work we are going to a resturant and meeting
Dave's brother and his family, Dave's ex wife and her husband, a friend of the family
and his family, our three kids and of course Dave's parents.
I am hoping to finish a few thing tomorrow...I have the day off and
no dress shopping on my schedule! LOL

So hopefully I will post a project soon!!!

The tree backgrounds are a few different ones put together..

Victorian Beauties

I am trying to diversify my creative field...branching out you may say...
and make some ornaments!
When I saw these little beauties from Scrapper's Delights I knew I had to have them...
and have them I did...in Blue, Red and Greeen!!!!
What I am showing you today is the blue ladies.

These kits come as regular sized and as tagger...
I used the tagger, shrunk them down a bit,
added my drop shadow and put them right on a bulb I had in my digi stash.
I added some clear star for the twinkles and on the bulb tops,
cut them out and backed them on dark blue card stock,
then added the stretchy silver ribbon for the hanger.

Here is a close up of the images:

Now for some other news..................
Scrapper's Delights is having a DT call for the creative team!!

Check back in a day or two for some other projects I am working on!

It's Another Fabulous Freebie Friday!

TGIFFF!
This week we have another fabulous image BUT
she is only available for 24 hours, so you better hurry!

This weeks challenge theme is Give Thanks!
What are you thankful for?
Me?
Well, for all that I have...my wonderful husband,
fantastic kids (for the most part), and any day I wake up with out a headache! LOL
Here is the card I made:

I kept it pretty simple...wanting the image to stand out...
the paper came from one of my Taylored Expressions kits...last October I believe!
the ribbon was from a roll I bought about 5 years ago
and the inside sentiment and leaf is from TLC...I just added them together.
I colored the image with copics.

Can't wait to see what wonderful creations you come up with!

Christmas Challenge with a Wreath Twist!

This year has gone by so fast and what a year it has been!
This will be the last Guylou's Inimitability challenge for 2011!
But we will be back and raring to go in 2012.
AND...
On December 3rd we will be having a blog hop!

OK,
It's my turn to host the challenge
I figured that since the lovely Sara picked Thanksgiving and a turkey twist....
I would choose Christmas with a wreath twist!
If any of you are anything like me, you are way behind on
your Christmas card list....(when you see my project you are going to laugh at that)
So this challenge will most definitely help you out!
Now I started out knowing what images I was going to use,
got my paper and stuff together and made my base card...
when it got time to add my images...I did not like it....soooo

I turned it into an ornament!

My step-son just got a puppy and I think I may give this to him!
I used "Sundae and Her Bone" along with one of GI's wreaths.
You can't tell in the picture but I popped parts of the wreath up to give some dimension.
I will tell you it was a lot of coloring to make two wreaths.

You have until 10:00pm on December 1st to link your project to the InLinkz on the challenge blog. Please make sure your project matches the requirements before you link it. One entry per participant.

Prize:
Guylou is offering a $10.00 gift certificate from her online store and will also be invited to be a Guest Designer on one of our challenges in 2012. You can enter only one project, but if you use a Guylou's Inimitability digistamp, your project will count for two entries. If you don't have one of her digistamps and your budget is tight; please check her online store where several freebies are available.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Roxann
Roxann was the winner of our recent "Breast Cancer Awareness" Challenge and was invited to join us this week. She used "Roger and Leah - Christmas 1" to make her festive and beautiful card. We are very happy to have Roxann playing along with us! Thanks Roxann!

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

2 posts!

FYI
I have 2 new posts
One for Guylou's Inimitability Challenge
and
One for the Fabulous Freebie Friday!
Make sure you check out both posts!

"What's Cooking!"

It's time for the next challenge at CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge!
This time the theme is "What's Cooking"
I got to use the cute "Bailey With Honey" image from Sew Many Cards!

Because I am in a harvesty mood I went with more fall colors...
even though this is actually a b-day card!

I colored the image with copics, added some flowers from Oriental Trading Co,
paper from my October Taylored Expression kit,
brads from my stash, and cut up leaves from my Martha Stewart punch!
Here is a close up and a picture of the inside. The sentiment is also part of the freebies this challenge!

I hope you have fun and cannot wait to see what creations you come up with!
See you on the flip side!

Finally!

WHEW! The last few weeks have been tough,
but we are finally starting a new week!

I have been working on a few Christmas projects using
I decided to take two of the poses and sit themon ornaments...
Here is what they came out like:

They are both completely digital (except for the snowflakes on the card and the stars on the pixies).
I used copics to color in the skin and stickles for the stars but used PSP for the rest.
Scrapper's Delights is having a new Christmas Challenge!

Also check out the store because Janice always
has freebies and massively fantastic sales!
I must apologize for being so far behind this month!
Between being down with a migraine and my Zilla having issues
life has gone completely bonkers and
I feel I was very lax in my DT duties!
So my sincere apologies to you Janice! I promise to do better!

I want to enter these into the following challenges:

Heart Song Inspirations                                Gold or Glitter
Lexi's Creations                                           No Straight Edges
Make It Monday                                         Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes                                            Digital images

Happy Holidays Honeys Hop!

Well it is that time of month....
that sooo did not sound right!
It is time for the latest release for Sassy Studio Designs!
And the DT blog hop!
Hopefully you arrived here from Karen's blog...if not you need to start at the begining.
(I added the blog order down below)

This month Lindsay has graciously provided us with several Holiday Honey Images!
If you have been following along, you know that I did Holiday Honey Cinderella for my sneak peek
and my other wonderful DT members have given us peeks of the other Honeys
that are now available in the SSD Store!

Now you know that it would not be an SSD Blog Hop without prizes!
Soooo there are a few things that you need to do:
Comment on each blog for the chance at one of the new Holiday Honeys...
there will be 2 winner randomly chosen from the blog comments
And answer some Christmas trivia questions for a chance at winning 3 images!
Each blog stop has a question...write them down and then post the answers on the SSD blog!
How easy is that???? Mine is listed below!

I used Holiday Belle Honey for my project:

As you can see I made a wine tag...
I think it is nice to have a little something...wine, champagne, apple cider...to give as a gift!
And what better way to present a bottle than it having a one of a kind tag!
On the back I can add a label with name and/or a nice sentiment.

The picture did not come out as nice as I wanted it to!
There is a ot of sparkle, not only on her dress but her hair.

Don't forget to keep track of your answers to each question
so you can get in on the chance for a prize!
My question:

What is the significance of the 5 golden rings?

Your next stop is Rachelle's blog!

Here is the blog order!

         Kim  (me)
                        Elenor (our guest DT)

Hope you have fun and good luck!

Don't forget to meet us on the party blog tonight!
At 10 pm est..see you there!

I used paper from MME Lost and Found,
the roses are ribbon; rolled and attached to a gruber glue circle,
metallic water colors and clear/star gel pen,
and pearls from a kit I purchased a long time ago!

I want to enter this into the following challenges:

Crafty Catz                                                  Use a digital image
Insipre Me Fridays                                       Anything Goes
Polka Doodles                                             Swirls and Pearls

Check It Out!

The next image of the latest Sassy Studio Designs Release is:

Holiday Honey

Cinderella!

I am just loving these new images...aren't you?
Of course I am a huge Disney freak. I even have one of the GIANT Mickey Mouse dolls!
Jenna grew up watching Disney movies...half of which I owned before she was born!

I colored her with metallic water colors and added diamond stickles for the fluff around the edges!
I tried to get her a bit more teal looking but it still ended up blue!
I guess I am just a bit traditional when it comes to Cinderella! LOL

Challenges I am going to enter:

Bows and Berries                                           CAS
Heart Song Inspirations                                  Anything Goes
