Sassy Studio Design New Release Blog Hop!

Hi all of you wonderful hoppers!
Do you have your comfy clothes on? Your cuppa whatever you drink?
This is a long post in a long hop!
Hopefully you came to my blog from the lovely and talented Kathy's blog.
If you stumbled across this post you may want to go to the
SSD Blog and start there...
We have a few new images to add to Lindsay's wonderful images!
Here is my card using the beautiful
Renaissance!

I popped her dress up to give it a bit more dimension.
I think she is such a lovely image!

OK on to the hop info!
We have been asked to list our favorite tool and least favorite and why.

So I will tell you my favorite...
It is called "Perfect Layers"
This was one of my very first tools I ever bought.
It came with a cutting mat, exacto knife and 3 rulers.
At that time I was more into scrapping and
putting frames around the pictures for my layouts.
There are good and bad reviews of this product but I have to say overall my review is great.
There are a few tricks to using them but it helps to make your
borders straight and neat!

I have never been able to find the set that I purchased that
came with every thing but you can find several different sets here.
Basically each ruler has four sizes 1/8, 1/16, etc... and you put your picture or whatever on the paper you want the mat to be and line up...forget it I am not going to try to explain it! LOL Too long and boring...there is a video on that site as well!

So this would have to be my favorite tool!

My least favorite is soooo hard to say. There are a few things that I wish I had waited to get or things I should not have bought because I already owned something that does the same thing.
My newest tool that I am disappointed in would have to be the i-magicut ribbon cutter.....

I think it does ok on regular ribbon, but try one with the painted on dots and it doesn't cut it very well and can even melt it a bit. Si I am going to go back to my old stand by called fray check...that stops the ends from fraying!
DEETS:    First prize will be 3 of the new images...BUT you must leave a comment on the SSD Blog stating YOUR favorite/least favorite tool...there will be 2 winners that will get 1 of the new images....BUT you must leave love on each of the DT's blog...you never know which comment from whose blog will be chosen!

From here you hop on over to Lori's blog to see what fabulous creation she has made!

Here is the hop order just in case!

SSD,  AbbieAngela, AshleyBelle ChristineChristy,  Debbie,  Jackie  Jamie,  Jen,  Jovan,  Julie
Karen,  Kate, Kathy Kim (me) Lori,  Mary,  Rachelle,  Rebecca,  Regan,  Ruza, Sara Shari,  Soma,  Starla

I may just have a little surprise for some random commenter too!
And don't forget to join us on the PARTY BLOG tonight 10 pm eastern time!
Have fun!

Look Down

I have two posts happening today!
One for the Fabulous Freebie Friday
and one for the newest challnge at Guylou's Inimtability!

Crazy Cat Lady Challenge

This weeks Guylou's Inimitability challenge is brought to us by the cat lover herself, Miss Gina.
Please check out her blog because she always rocks these challenges!
The theme is a color challenge this time around.
You must use the colors of a Siamese!

So the colors are brown, cream (off white) and blue (like their eyes)

I made a card that did not quite turn out what I envisioned but
overall I am pretty happy with it!
As you can see I created a scene using Frederic
my brown is the trees and the base of the card,
my cream is in the hamock and parts of the trees,
and of course my blue is his jeans and the sky.
I just got a hand held air brush
and the sky was my first attempt at using it!
Still working on it! LOL
Check out the rules on the challenge site
and all the other DT blogs!
Kate is our guest designer this week!

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

Shades Of The Past

OK I am really reaching for post titles!

This is a card that I made using the beautiful
Elizabeth "Laura" Bennet
She is one of the latest Sassy FAN-tastic Fan inspired images
Laura B is the one who suggest her!

I started out trying for a more pink dress but
ended up going browns...figured it looked  a bit more aged!

Never Too Late!

OK I should have posted these before Easter was over
but then the people who got them would have seen them before receiving!
Using 2 of the wonderful Easter image from Scrapper's Delights
So I finished my Easter basket:

and the added sign is from Dustin Pike.
The strap is from a belt...yes a belt...you know the ones
that come on shorts that you never use?? Well I use mine...
just not to hold up the shorts!
Here is a card I made using Easter Bunny Egg 1:

There is some sparkle and shinr but I could not get the lighting
right to really make it show up!
Anyway hope every one had a wonderful Easter :)

It's Friday!

It's Friday and you know what that means...
A FABULOUS FREEBIE!
That's right...time for the Sassy Studio Designs
freebie on Paper Craft Planet!
The freebie is only good for 24 hours.

This week we have the gorgeous and sexy
Grecian Gracie!
And the theme is Anything Goes!
So I decides to do something a bit different
and made a SMASH book page.
Yes my first one!

I made this page as a kick in the butt, I am woman, hear me roar!
Seriously...there are times when I don't feel strong and need that
kick in the butt that says I am that and a whole lot more.
We women are all goddesses and deserve to feel that way!
So I hope you enjoy my SMASH pages and hopefully I will continue to make more!

Let's Get Sketchy!

Today at Guylou's Inimitability we are starting our next challenge
and this week our fearless and most talented leader has chosen a sketch...

Pretty cool huh?

Here is my take:

I tried to make it more 3-d but the picture doesn't allow that to really come across!
I used one of Guylou's latest images called cat in the window.
I used the sentiment Missing You because he looks like he is waiting for someone to come home!
I hope you like it!
Make sure you link up your projects on the challenge blog
and follow all the rules!

"Hey, Hey BooBoo"
"Oh, bother"
"But Yogi, the ranger's not going to like it"

So have you figured the theme for this week's
CDAC Progressive Challenge yet?

You guessed it!
It's all about bears!

I got to create something using Clown Bear
from Pixies Piecings...

I colored this little guy with copics and added smooch on his crown.
The bees are from Favorite Findings (bought at Joanns).
The flowers are from Oriental Trading
The papers and the ribbon came form my Taylored Expressions kit!
