I used some cool techniques and tried some new textures!

Canvas Art

A friend of mine asked if I would make her 

2 canvas' as gifts for her daughter.

Now I have made a few with quotes and digi images

even ones with photos for me or for family

but I had not made ones like these for sale...

 I made the bricks (will do a post on that later)

and loved how they came out. 

 The quotes were what Kathy had picked out.

I am really happy with them!

Card Makin Mamas #83 Photo Inspiration!

This week at Card Makin Mamas 

our challenge is

 

I don't know why, but I never seem to do

photo inspirations very well. 

But here is my take..

I used an image from Simply Betty Stamps

and the Steampunk Classic Collection called "The Twins"

I kept it simple..pulling the brown from the frames in the picture

and focusing more on the image.

I chose to use
Steampunk Josephine

I have really been getting into mixed media stuff lately
and I found some picture frames for $1.99 to $2.99 at
Hobby Lobby...so I decided to play a bit.

This is what I started with...

Added gesso and distress crackle...

Added sprays and embossing powders by Lindy's,
and added several metal embellies...
don't you love the "Sassy Girl"?

 I fell in love with this poem...
I am proud to be 43...wrinkles and all
I figured I earned them!

I made my own paper by spraying it with

Ranger Distress Stain put into mini misters.

Can you believe I don't use a lot of green or anything

with shamrocks!

So spraying my own worked!

Card Makin Mamas #82 Splish Splash!

Hiya

This weeks Card Makin Mamas is...

We want to see your projects using

mists, sprays, paint...

Here is what I made...

I used  Toadstool Facination by
ching chou kuik's sold at Sweet Pea Stamps.

My paper I made with a few sprays from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

 Added some ribbon and some bling! 

Colored her with Copic markers and added

some stickles to the mushrooms and her belt.

I fussy cut her, mounted on white paper leaving portions

sticking out over the edges.
