Khaki Color Challenge

Guylou's Inimitability is starting something different and each of us design team members are taking turns coming up with a challenge. It's going to allow us to get a bit creative on more than just our projects. Sooo without further ado our first host is……………………………................................................................................................................. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………...…. …..……………………………………………………………………………………………………….….

(Make sure you check out her blog…as well as the other design team members. (you can find them all on the left!) And out guest designer, Theresa Gerber, always comes up with something just fabu, so don't forget to check out her project here.)

Tracy chose a color challenge, a Khaki Creative Color Challenge that is. You not only have to use the colors listed above but there is a twist….you need to add something that you would use around the house, something that you would find lying around and add it to your card. (mesh, washers, molding, corner brackets) Pretty cool dontcha think?

Here is your color pallet:

OK when I first read about this challenge I really had nothing in mind. You know how sometimes you hear a challenge and think "Aha that will work for the card I need for Sally." Well on this one I went "Huh...what should I make?"
The colors are good together and I knew I had them all in my stash. And for the household items, well I have stuff that I just bought on my last trip to ACE Hardware…so I knew I was good to go for that, but what the heck was I going to make….and then it hit me….I needed a storage container for my syringe needles. Now that you're intrigued or thinking I'm doing something bad..the syriges are actually for my dog Zilla.

See she was diagnosed with horrible allergies and needed to be put on allergy injections. Zilla is our rescue Akita. She is just over 10 and a huge baby! I will post more on her and her "brother" Koda another time. Anyway, with giving this injections you cannot just throw the needles away, so the vet said to keep them together and turn them all in to the office at one time…so viola…I need a container to hold all the needles! And what better way to use my new "Akita Fun" image from Guylou's Inimitability. I love this image...thank you again G for making it.

Here's a picture of my babies:

Zilla is in the front...Koda is on the table.

It really looks like my babies, don't you think?

Here are some close ups:

I used screen repair mesh behind the image, 3 screws to hold the tags on, a tag from my Levi shorts, and a coffee can for my household items!

OK now for all the other info on the challenge...it starts today through the 5th of May, you need to follow all of the guideline posted here, and you need to have some fun with it. (you can check all the guidelines here it is on the left) Go take a look around your house for some fun and creative stuff! Don't forget to check out the Design Team and Theresa's projects.

Don't forget that GI's having a new release May 6th. Make sure you check it out!Just to get you wondering......
I used just scrap pieces of paper that I had in my file folders. The green is cut with the Martha Stewart punch.
I used copics to color my wonderful digi...

This is just fantabulous (fantastic and fabulous together cause I couldn't decide which one to use lol)! What an excellent idea for your baby's needles. And I am awe at your creativeness with not only the mesh, but the screws, the coffee can and the tag from your levi shorts! And I'll bet Zilla was happy with her lovely can ;)
